Dear Friends;
We invite you to join us for a prayer gathering Monday February 6th.
Full details are included below.

The Mevlevi Order of America welcomes all to our public Estag'furullah Zikr Monday, February 6th beginning at 7:30pm in the Ballard Odd Fellows Hall, 1706 NW Market Street in Seattle. Zip 98107.
The Seattle Circle of Mevlevi's invites you to join us for this beautiful prayer of forgiveness, redemption, music, Love, movement in Unity, reaching out to each other and the entire world in the spirit of inclusion, grace and beauty of Hazrati Pir Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi, peace and blessings upon him and his worldwide family.
This special prayer in movement and music is from the inspiration of Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras, founder of the Mevlevi Order of America. Throughout the evening we invoke the Forgiveness of God for all of our shortcomings by singing the word "Esta'furullah." This expression is similar to the asking of Forgiveness within the Christian Lord's Prayer, and the annual Yom Kippur request of God to Forgive humanity within the Jewish tradition. Many other spiritual traditions also practice prayers of Forgiveness.
This gathering is welcoming of all people of any spiritual path or no spiritual path.
Dress modestly, yet comfortably for ease of movement, wear thick socks for floor movement as this gathering is fully participatory... If you cannot physically participate, do not worry, there are many comfortable benches around the room that you may rest upon while still being included within the prayer circle.

Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras is the founder and President of the Mevlevi Order of America.
In 1978, his father Suleyman Hayati Dede, the head of the Mevlevi Order in Konya, Turkey, instructed him to go to America and share the Mevlevi path. He found many westerners eager to embrace the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Mevlevi tradition. Today, over 30 years later, there are active MOA centers in New York, throughout the West Coast, Hawaii, and Europe.
Jelaleddin leads devotional practices which include instruction in the turn (known as whirling), Sema (whirling prayer ceremony), sohbet (spiritual conversation), adab (respectful manners), and zikr (prayers of remembrance).
In addition, he directs a school in Konya teaching Mevlevi arts, especially music and turning.
Through his dedication and sincere friendship, he continues to inspire hundreds of students to develop a heartfelt connection with the path of Mevlana, known to many as Rumi.
Fri
ends;
The Mevlevi Order of America will again hold our Summer Gathering at Camp Brotherhood in Mt. Vernon, WA Wednesday June 13th (dinner) through Monday June 18th (breakfast.)
Together, we will deepen in the Love of Rumi and study the path of spirituality he shared with his students and the path that has been practiced for centuries.
In 1978 Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras was sent to America from Konya, Turkey by his father, then the Shaykh of the Mevlevi Order,
Jelaleddin Efendi honored his father's wishes and has been training students for over 30 years in the path of Rumi. He established the Mevlevi Order of America where women train equally with men in all of the spiritual practices, teaching positions, as center leaders and learn to lead the spiritual ceremony of the whirling dervishes, the Sema.
With Circles in the East Coast, West Coast, Hawaii and Europe this summer gathering will truly be an international gathering!
Whether you are new to the tradition of Rumi and the whirling dervishes or deeply centered in another tariqat or tradition, you are invited to deepen in the Love of Rumi with us.
Jelaleddin Efendi has created lovely, inspiring methods of teaching those of us from other cultures and traditions. With his guidance, the prayer-dance-meditation of the whirling dervishes is revealed as the healing, transformative and path-of-peace it is at its core.
To Register: Email Gulum Hatun at registrar@hayatidede.org.
Cost for 5 nights lodging, 3 meals per day, and Teachings of the Mevlevi: $730.00 if received by 5/31. [$820.00 after.]

One World 2011 is a people-to-people movement that focuses on building respect, peace and understanding between the people of the U.S. and the people of the Muslim world.
Jamal Rahman and Rev. Karen Lindquist met with One World 2011 visionary and CEO, Bob Walsh, along with Shela Hamid (Director, Community Outreach) and Mohammad Fani (Director, Interfaith) in late November 2010 to discover how the local interfaith community and Interfaith Community Church can support this beautiful gathering now being created.
One World 2011 UPDATE:
Over the past three years, One World 2011 has been working around the globe on our mission to create greater understanding among the people of the Muslim world and the West through the exchange of knowledge, culture and ideas. We are proud to be working with amazing partners and supporters from over a dozen countries and have made tremendous progress in building strong programs.
However, due to the unpredictable political turmoil throughout North Africa and the Middle East, it has become necessary to modify One World 2011 events for this summer. Our core programming, focused on youth, will be adapted into a web-based Youth Leader Development Conference, utilizing cutting-edge technology to connect youth from Muslim majority countries and the West. Participants will explore personal cultural stories, learn intercultural and interfaith communication skills, and collaborate on solutions to community needs.
