"I slept and dreamt that life was joy.
I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and behold, service was jo
y."
~ Rabindranath Tagore*

Volunteering within Interfaith Community Church is an aspect of our spiritual enrichment;
We are nourished through service to others. As we assist another to heal, grow, repair and restore their hope in humanity, we ourselves are made whole.

"You give but little when you give of your possessions,
it is when you give of yourself that you truly give."
~ Kahlil Gibran

If you desire to volunteer at Interfaith Community Church, we encourage you to attend services, classes and gatherings and to connect with our members, officers and ministers in person. Following this initial contact there may be opportunities to volunteer. Please refer to our monthly bulletin for a gathering that appeals to you.

We offer public interfaith gatherings within our sacred space and at other houses of worship. We collaborate with many faith and spiritual communities in the creation of dialogs, services, and symposiums.

Yearly we welcome high school students to receive community service hours through volunteering at Interfaith Community Church. We have welcomed students from Ballard, Roosevelt and Bishop Blanchet High Schools. In 2010 we hope to also welcome students from Arts In Motion School.

To VOLUNTEER, CONTACT: Rev. Karen Lindquist: 206.783.1618.

* Rabindranath Tagore was the first Asian (from Bangladesh) to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. He is credited for giving the title 'Mahatma' to Gandhi out of his deep reverence and respect. He wrote the anthems for India and Bangladesh. His book of song offerings, 'Gitanjali' is a favorite.
